Sylvia Chang

Sylvia Chang is a beautiful woman. Not only is she an accomplished actress, she's also an acclaimed screenwriter and director herself. It was an honour working with her and watching her work. She took the role very seriously. Many times when we were lighting a scene, I would find her sitting in a corner with her glasses on, studying the script, making notes, charting her character's emotional journey, studying her lines, pacing them. I witnessed her go from the greatest of elation to the deepest of pain in this film. I saw a woman laying bare her soul.

Martin Yan

Martin is a serious man. He takes everything he does very seriously. He will make you laugh, he will charm you, he will help you, he will listen to you. He's caring but strong. Giving but full of principle. I know he enjoyed himself filming. I think he will be proud of his performance.

Melanie Laurent

Melanie was cast through Joule Studio in Paris. She came and went like her character, Sabine, like a silk-scarf floating in the air in slow motion, full of grace. She was generous but strong minded, like her character. Filming in Asia was a far less luxurious experience for her than what she was used to in France but she never complained. She just kept going and giving me what I asked for. She put it best when she told me how she felt about being an actor, "Having the opportunity to act in a film with an interesting character to play is a already privilege, it's already the icing on the cake."

Pham

Pham is a discovery. He accompanied a friend to the audition and ended up being cast. He has a quality of earnestness that is both rare and refreshing to see. At the same time, he has a quiet strength in his eyes, something that makes the audience wants to know more about him.
