Hi Marcus, thanks for writing, Not sure if there is much of a "Hong Kong" film industry t break into any more. The industry has certainly downsized and moved into China.
As for advice. The only one I have is to hang in there and persevere.

hi ken,
enjoy reading your blog, especially some of the interviews that give insight into hk film, particularly the making of it.
i am a genre film fan and have written genre film scripts in english and chinese. i approached several film prod companies in hk recently and submitted breakdowns and synopses, much like i would prod companies here, but had no luck.
i am a canadian chinese filmmaker and i have a few short films under my belt that have played in small film fests in the US and Canada.
my question is, what advice do you have for filmmakers like me who are trying to 'break into' the hk film scene?

Hi Kenneth,

The trailer looks very good; interesting themes.

It is rare for movies in HK to approach some of the more taboo aspects of society. As I'm limited to the trailer, I look forward to seeing it before I can additional comments.

Very insightful, sometimes I wonder if a scene is too weak if one of the character's objective is so much stronger than the others? I guess that's what drama is all about.
