Rosa Li

Profile

As an independent film producer, Rosa has produced and worked on several feature films in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Taiwan, including "A Small Miracle" by Kenneth Bi, and "Kangaroo Man" and "Woman Soup," both by Taiwanese director Emily Liu. She also recently completed work on "The Father of Chinese Cinema," a documentary for the Discovery Channel.

In addition to being a Hong Kong based film producer, Rosa is also a freelance bilingual television host for CETV, a Mandarin cable channel owned and operated by AOL Time Warner. Interviews with master illusionist David Copperfield, fashion designers Flora Cheung-leen and Barney Cheng, Asian superstars Gigi Leung and Michelle Rees, as well as hosting the official signing ceremony between AOL Time Warner and China's State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) mark some of the highlight in her on-air career.

Prior to becoming an independent film producer and on-air talent, Rosa was Senior Vice President at Shaw Media, part of the third generation Shaw family -- the renowned entertainment giant of Hong Kong. As Senior VP, she was in charge of program distribution for Greater China and oversaw the development of film projects throughout Asia.

In 1997, Rosa was responsible for launching AXN, Sony Pictures Entertainment's 24-hour "action" cable channel in Taiwan. Preceding Sony, Rosa worked in Business Development for Pearson Television Asia in Hong Kong. As Pearson was then a 10% shareholder in TVB - Hong Kong's dominant TV broadcaster, and indirectly, Shaw Brothers, Rosa had the opportunity to work with several major global media groups in their attempts to acquire the Shaw library. She was instrumental in helping to evaluate the library and to devise business plans to best utilize Shaw's classic Chinese movies.
